SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT PRINCIPLES
Supply chain initiatives should be planned at three levels:
  • Strategic: Proactively seeking and evaluating a direction.
  • Tactical: The activities required to execute the strategy.
  • Operational: The design, analysis and control of processes.
SCM should go beyond the simple integration of business processes and be an integrative discipline that permeates through all the functional elements of the enterprise.

The leadership of an enterprise should be able to balance the strategic initiatives of the organization with efficient and effective capital investment and should balance the operational requirements of the organization with the needs and requirements of their customers and suppliers.
